We're now into our seventh free school uniform initiative to enable children and young people to start the school year in a brand-new school uniform. This helps pupils to maintain their self-confidence and to stay engaged in their education. Last year, we were able to provide free school uniforms to almost one hundred disadvantaged children and young people in over forty families, who were nominated by schools, charities, agencies or other organisations. Some of these families take up our offer of ongoing support and we can help them to make significant improvements to their quality of life and prospects. We're expecting to provide even more uniforms this year; and we'll invite this year's families to pick up their uniforms at a family fun day in August.

A primary-school uniform costs us £13 - £18 on average, and a secondary-school uniform is around £30 - £35, depending on the school.

If you'd like to donate to help us to kit out disadvantaged children in our community, please make a donation at one of our Sunday Gatherings, with a note to specify that it's for "The Ark Free School Uniforms initiative".

Alternatively you can donate online.
